Garden Room

Since we got the poly tunnel greenhouse, we moved all of our gardening supplies in it.  This left us a bare room, so I wall papered and put the bamboo curtains up.  We store our garden furniture and a few plants in this room, now.

It's cozy.  I got a New Zealand spinach plant started.  The beets and Swiss chard haven't sprouted, nor has the turmeric or ginger root.  The carrot, pak choi & other seedlings are showing.

Reading corner.....

Parsley plants are growing in the pockets of the strawberry pot on the table.
Planted corn salad seeds in the top of the planter.  The New Zealand spinach is growing in the bed to the right of the chair by the grow light.

Horseradish plants in front.  Mother's Day plant Marna & the boys gave me in back.  I got the tiny roots on ebay a couple of months ago.  Man were we surprised to see how big they've grown!!  George made the corner wine cabinet.  There are places for bottles and hangers for wine glasses built into the cabinet.  We don't drink, so it's a nic-nack shelf....

Horseradish pot.  Horseradish puts out a toxin in the soil (like black walnut trees) that will kill any plants growing around it, so we planted it in a pot.

The lettuce bed I kipped from George.....

The stair George built for my short legs.  He built the planters on either side.  I planted kale in both pots.

Baby radish plants....

The water that comes off of the air conditioner goes into this pot.  The pipe goes to the plant bed, where it's hooked up to a soaker hose.  I just turn on the valve to water the soil.

Closer view of the reading corner.  My seed box is on top of the books.

Violets growing in the river rock bed.  Marna made the cowboy boot bird house for us.

I planted asparagus in the chive barrel.  We'll move the chives this coming spring.

The plant bed in the garden room.  I'm still waiting for the climbing strawberry plant seeds.  They'll grow up the lattice.

The garden room from the back sliding door.

This is a great place to store our lawn furniture when it rains.  We wanted to protect it from the elements in the bad weather.
